WHAT SHOULD BE PACKED IN THE HOSPITAL BAG?

In the last weeks of pregnancy, when the moment to welcome your little angel is approaching, besides the feeling of nervousness and expectation, surely for those who firstly become a parent will inevitably feel anxious about how to prepare a full hospital bag for delivery but still have to be neat and lightweight. What should be prepared for giving birth at the American International Hospital (AIH)? Let's refer to a perfect hospital bag, mothers!

► ESSENTIALS FOR MOTHER

01 clothes worn when discharged from the hospital, you should choose a shirt with a button or zipper in front, to facilitate breastfeeding on demand.
Rimless bra for maternal postpartum and lactation.
Breast pump with a funnel according to your nipple size if you want to use it separately.

► ESSENTIALS FOR FATHER

Clothing as per father’s demand

► NECESSARY DOCUMENTS

Mother’s original identity card/citizen identity card or notarized copies
Mother’s original family register or notarized copies
Original marriage register/ notarized copies (if any)
Mother’s health insurance card (if any)

► ESSENTIALS FOR BABY

Soft towels for cleaning baby: 5-7pcs.
Baby wrapping towels: 3 - 5 pcs.
Clothes, gloves, leg covers, hospital hats: 3-5 sets.
Milk bottle (if not using milk bottle prepared by the hospital).
Bottle sterilizer (used to sterilize personal bottles).
Formula milk.

♦ Mothers should notice:

The early use of milk bottle/ and formula milk will result in a slow lactation/ breast engorgement/ baby's refusal of breast milk. At the American International Hospital (AIH), mothers will be advised for exclusive breastfeeding and helping babies to latch early since they are born. However, AIH always prepares bottles for use in special cases such as mothers with health problems, impossible to lie next to the baby in postpartum period, mother's nipples are concave or too big,….

Depending on the needs of the mother and baby, the list or number of items above may vary. The full preparation of hospital bag will help the mother and her relatives staying away from embarrassment, strenuousness during the length of hospital stay.
