► The development of the fetus in each week of gestation
From 0 - 4 gestational weeks
At this stage, the embryo is still very small, the gestational sac has not yet moved into the uterus. Therefore, through the first ultrasound, it will help the mother to definitively determine if she is pregnant.
From 4 – 7 gestational weeks
At this stage, the embryo begins to take shape. Through the ultrasound, the expectant mother will know the diameter of the gestational sac.
From 7 – 20 gestational weeks
After the 7th week, the fetus begins to have new developments, hence there are many other indicators such as: the largest diameter on the section of the baby’s head, the length of the femur, estimated fetal weight…
From 21 – 40 gestational weeks
Entering the 21st week, the fetus has developed and reached maximum levels in terms of indicators such as length, weight, and full formation of organs.
