AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL (AIH) RECEIVES THE SECOND JCI GOLD SEAL OF APPROVAL
American International Hospital (AIH) is honored to have received the prestigious “Gold Seal of Approval” for the second time from JCI – the world’s leading healthcare quality accreditation organization.

Reaffirming the JCI “Gold Standard” with an almost perfect score
In September 2025, AIH successfully completed its second JCI re-accreditation survey. The comprehensive multi-day evaluation was conducted directly by international experts from the Joint Commission International (JCI). The assessment covered more than 1,200 rigorous criteria based on the latest JCI 8th Edition, 2025, with a primary focus on patient safety. The standards encompass all aspects of care and treatment, clinical governance, as well as hospital operation, including: Access to service and continuous care, Care and treatment, Anesthesia and surgical care, International patient safety goals, Medication management and use, Patient-centered care, Quality managment and patient safety, Infection prevention and control, Facility management and safety of equipment, Staff qualifications and education, Information management. Aiming to enhance patient satisfaction and experience, as well as to continuously improve the patient care process.
Notably, the JCI 8th Edition (2025) introduces several new evaluation criteria, reflecting increasingly stringent requirements in each re-accreditation cycle. Through its consistent commitment to quality improvement and patient safety, AIH achieved over 99% compliance, affirming its international-level capability in quality and safety management. This result was recognized by the JCI survey team, which confirmed that AIH fully meets global standards - on par with leading hospitals worldwide.
Previously, in November 2022, AIH was first awarded the JCI accreditation. Following JCI’s three-year accreditation cycle, hospitals undergo rigorous and comprehensive re-evaluation of management and patient safety systems. This process requires not only maintaining compliance with existing standards but also adapting to new requirements and ensuring sustainable development.

Continuous improvement for sustainable development
In the context of a constantly evolving global healthcare landscape, adaptability and continuous improvement have become the cultural foundation enabling American International Hospital (AIH) to grow sustainably and strengthen its reputation in delivering high-quality healthcare.
A representative of AIH shared: “At AIH, improvement is not merely a requirement of the quality management process - it has become the mindset and daily practice of every staff member. This spirit is clearly reflected in the latest JCI 8th Edition (2025), which introduces new elements such as environmental sustainability, the adoption of advanced medical technologies (AI, telehealth, EMR), and mental health care for healthcare workers. In response to the rising demands of science, technology, and society - as well as JCI’s increasingly rigorous standards - we have acted promptly to standardize operational processes, upgrade IT infrastructure, and implement training programs to ensure consistent application of new standards in daily practice.”

Accordingly, American International Hospital (AIH) regularly conducts internal audits and mock JCI surveys to simulate real assessment scenarios. At the same time, the hospital maintains collaborations with leading medical institutions worldwide to continuously update clinical advancements, exchange expertise, and effectively apply these innovations in clinical practice - thereby ensuring maximum patient safety and optimal treatment outcomes.

Expanding leading specialties
In its ongoing journey to enhance clinical quality and service standards, American International Hospital (AIH) continues to expand and develop its leading specialties, investing in advanced medical technologies and strengthening professional expertise. Among them, the Neurosurgery & Spine Unit at AIH stands out for its specialization in diagnosing and treating complex conditions of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. The unit pioneers the application of advanced surgical techniques such as microsurgery - minimally invasive procedures, and endoscopy, successfully treating challenging cases including brain tumors, spinal stenosis, and complex herniated discs. These interventions have helped patients overcome life-threatening conditions, restore mobility, and regain their quality of life.
